Christian Homeschool Entrepreneurship is BRAND NEW on the market! It was created by two homeschool fathers, Billy Smith and Mark Baker, who have backgrounds in entrepreneurship. The core of this curriculum involves video lessons where the talks are entertaining and full of solid information and ideas to get the student started and help them become successful in whatever they do in life from a biblical view. Examples come from their personal backgrounds in entreneupurship and good examples in life such as Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A and David Green, founder of Hobby Lobby. The lessons are intended to be viewed once a week. At a week after the first lesson, I was emailed a notification that the second one could be viewed.
Beside the interesting video talks, “homework” is assigned. These are set up to encourage the student to get creative. A forum is available for students to discuss the homework, get feedback, and make friends.
Annually, they hold a contest called, “Pitch your own idea!” This part totally got some interest from one of my boys. He was so excited about the contest, he wanted to start immediately after watching the first lesson. I told him he probably should wait a little bit and learn from the classes, because through the videos he will learn how to write a compelling executive summary and create a video pitch. The grand prize is $1,000!
Ideally, the curriculum is aimed towards the high schooler, but upper elementary kids would benefit, as well. It’s set up on a 36 week program, but check dates for the contest.
Currently, there is a summer special going on that is $19.95 a month or $29.95 per month for the entire family.
