This is the first part of a series about our experiences cutting both girls’ and boys’ hair.
I cut all the girls hair, but when I want mine cut, Dad does it for me. My last haircut was August, 2013. These pictures are of the process. I had a specific look in mind. I really wanted a smooth layering job.
This is my hair before it was cut at all.
You can see how the ends are a bit choppy. That is where Dad was experimenting with the clippers.
The final length cut.
The final layering job
How it looked just after he finished. I was very pleased with how it looked!
How it looked after I washed my hair and it air dried. No, my hair wasn’t cut crooked. It just looks like it because I sometimes tend to tilt my head. My hair ended up a little wavier than I expected, but I like it that way. Sometimes I could do the sleek look, most of the times not. I don’t use a straightener. I really like the style, over all. Dad did a really good at taking my description and getting it done.
In retrospect, a year and a half later, I would not recommend using the buzzers like we did. I now have way too many split ends. Our buzzers are a bit dull, so that may be the problem…
Have you had any home layering jobs? What method did you use and how did it turn out?
