Plan on putting any food up this fall? Cherries? Peaches? Green beans? Now is the time to be looking for those canning jars!
I have found my jars at:
- Garage sales: ASK. People forget when they have been tucked in the cellar or under their basement stairs for 20 years.
- Thrift stores.
- Church rummage sales.
- Elderly neighbors who don’t can anymore.
Be sure to run your finger over the rim for cracks, chips or bumps that would cause it not to seal when canning. Those jars are no good and should just be thrown away.
My preference is wide mouth because everything fits in a wide mouth jar, especially pickles/cucumbers.

HSLDA: Delegation at UN Disconnects Phone–Update
Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:
Congratulations!
The office of UN Ambassador Susan Rice has been inundated with calls!
The first phone line we sent out has been completely shut down, and
the voice mail system for all of their lines has been crashed.
This means you can’t likely get through, so what do you do?
You no longer need to call the U.S. office at the UN. Instead, please
contact the White House comment line at 202-456-1111. It may be
busy–we have kept it busy all day–but keep trying. It is only open
from 9 to 5 EDT, so time is limited. However, you can also send them a
message online at http://www.whitehouse.gov/CONTACT/.
Also, contact your senators. Find their contact information by using
our Legislative Toolbox at http://www.hslda.org/toolbox .
Congressional offices also close at 5 (EDT), so try to get to them
quickly–or call tomorrow!
Please visit www.ParentalRights.org for more up-to-date information on
this campaign before calling our office.
Thank you so much, and keep up the great work!
Michael Farris
HSLDA Chairman

This video series is a must see for those that are planning on having children, for those that have children and even for grandparents, who want the best for their grandchildren.
After one of our kids had a bad reaction to vaccines, we began to read. We read several of the books that Mrs. Tocco (who does the video seminar) mentions. The information I read was not what I expected to hear, but it was what we needed to know in order to make informed decisions regarding our childrens’ health.
I wished that someone had come along and shared with us before we immunized. My hope is that, as someone that has been there, done that, learned from it, that I can pass this information along to you.
If you have had negative experiences with vaccinations within your family, please share in my comments section.

We are going to Oregon again in October. That means we have to cross Montana, Idaho, we drive through Washington and are headed to the Oregon coast for a reunion. We will be playing our music at the reunion and are looking for places to play on our way back.
You may recall we do not charge, nor do we ask for donations. Our music style is eclectic and we enjoy can accommodate any type of audience. We also have our own set, which includes originals not on our cd that we hope to put in our next one, Lord willing.
Soooooo, if you are up to seeing me and my family, and think your fellowship or group or party might enjoy having us, please send me an email on my brand new, fancy schmancy contact page. We have promotional material for you, as well. You can hear us here.
It would great to meet up with some of you!
