Something that I have been noticing recently, that has not been sitting well with me are those that are attempting to be (and they very well may be) Titus 2 women, but are charging for their ministry to other women. I’ve seen it a LOT online wherein forums are charged for use, or you must buy a product to belong to their forum or you must buy their ideas, recipes, schedules. Anyone else notice this trend? Is this biblical?

Pro 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

1 Cor. 9:18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

There is no mention of charging for ministry in the New Testament, however there are scriptures that do speak of giving to those that do so… although not REQUIRED.

1 Corinthians 9:9 For it is written in the law of Moses, thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?

Luke 10:2-8 “Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:”

As you can see, there is no set amount to give.

If it wasn’t for God’s provision, my forum wouldn’t exist at cmomb.com, nor would this blog. But they both belong to God and He would want me to share in a Titus 2 way without charge.
